Remaking this post because my last post died. I’m trying to raise money to pay rent, plus a car for transportation as my last car got ruined. Hey friends, things have Not Been Easy. I had to take my sister, my mom and my dad to all get prescription glasses, and then my dad’s glasses broke and I had to take him AGAIN to the optician to have another pair fitted; After paying for all the household bills and all that, I am not left with a lot of wiggle room. I only have 120 usd to last me until March, with no room for emergencies and such, so I am opening 4 more slots of commissions for March-May.

She wrote a narrative in which a marginalised person’s resentment of their oppressors causes them to become morally corrupt, and the only “good” members of the marginalised group are the ones who can overcome that resentment. She created a story in which the protagonist must prevent a marginalised group from reclaiming their property, because doing so would make them too powerful, and that might threaten the status quo.
Troy Leavitt was the lead developer for the first several years of this game’s creation. He runs an alt-right YouTube channel in which he defends cultural appropriation and sexual harassment apologism, among other things. He oversaw the design of a marginalised minority which bears an uncanny resemblance to Nazi propaganda:

its my mom’s birthday today, and it would mean the world to everyone in my family if anyone with the means would like to send anything our way.
my mom is a survivor of sepsis, and is a full time wheelchair user; my dad is chronically ill and my sister is autistic with a very low frustration threshold.
I am the only one in a family of 4 who can work; I am my family’s sole breadwinner and caretaker. I currently have three jobs, one at publishing, another drawing for indie games and book covers, and another as freelancer; I work 9 hours almost every day of the week, but bc both my parents have a plethora of health issues and need constant medical attention, I am barely making a livable wage; From my mom’s last tests, we also found out that her kidneys are weak and so is one of her lungs. My mom also says she has gone completely blind in her one eye; according to the dr it was likwly because of her diabetes. After her bday, we would like to see if something can still be done aboit her eye, and what else can we do for her kidneys, and maybe some breathing room for me; I have not had a day off from work since January 6, and before that I only got days off on the holidays T ~ T

On Tuesday night, my uncle (my mom’s younger brother) was killed in a car crash while riding his bike. As you can imagine, our family has just been devastated by this loss. His death has been ruled an accident so no autopsy was performed. For the past few days, we have been grieving and praying but we are losing hope that the investigation will go anywhere. We’re trying to put together his funeral, but we can’t do that and also afford an autopsy out of pocket. This has literally been the worst few days. We’re all trying to keep it together but my mom is just so hurt from losing her brother and we just need to know the truth and we feel helpless. My last posts haven’t went anywhere, but this is important. Please share this post and donate if you can and please keep us in your prayers as we try and navigate all of this. 🕊️

Etsy is now forcing shop owners to be part of their ads. We can not opt out.
To anyone who buys from etsy: DO NOT EVER CLICK THEIR ADS
They are rolling out a program where if you get a sale from an ad they put out, they’re taking 12-15% of the profit(probably on top of the like, 5%ish+ they already take). Even worse, if you have clicked an Etsy ad in the last 30 days ANYONE YOU BUY FROM ON ETSY IN THAT PERIOD WILL BE BILLED THAT FEE.
So please, if you see an ad for something you like off etsy, do not click it. Just go on etsy and search for it.
This is somehow worse than what storenvy used to pull.
Please go directly through an artist or see if they have their own storefront (I use bigcartel) instead of purchasing off etsy. And if you must, just please, please, never click an etsy ad.
Hey I opened my etsy shop back up after years to destash some stuff and make a little extra money and so I ran smack into this myself. DO NOT CLICK ETSY ADS to buy something. It charges the seller a huge fee that that did not expect or agree to. In my case it was pretty much large enough to eat all my profit. The only way to fight against this is to increase all your prices a lot in case anyone buys your stuff after clicking on an ad, therefore driving all prices up.
And it’s not 12-15% of the profit, it’s 12-15% of the PRICE. There’s no way Etsy knows the cost of the actual item before profit. So if you price your wares with 15% profit for yourself, congrats you’ve lost money on the transaction.

Farha (2021) is a movie about the Palestinian Nakba that’s just been put on Netflix, it’s a portrayal of the violence experienced by Palestinians during Israel’s creation from the perspective of a 14 year old girl - to my knowledge, this is the first film about the story of the Nakba on Netflix. (If you don’t know the history of the Nakba - this post can explain it quickly)

The story of the Nakba has one that has long been silenced and it’s so rare to see it even acknowledged in media, my family survived it, many others didn’t, what they all experienced was real, and it’s about time there has been recognition of it.
For people who live in the U.S., November can bring to mind a lot of things, and one of them is Thanksgiving. This can be a complicated holiday because while most people just see it as an excuse to get together with friends and family and pig out, we all know that the story of the “First Thanksgiving” is bullshit.
This November, and for as long as it takes, I’m asking you to keep Native American and Alaska Native rights in mind and to fight for them. ICWA, the Indian Child Welfare Act, is at risk.
This act was created to stop cultural genocide. Until the late 1900s, Native American and Alaska Native children were routinely kidnapped and placed in residential schools and white families, where they faced abuse, forced assimilation, and sometimes murder. ICWA was passed in 1978 to stop this by allowing tribes to control the foster and adoption placement of Native American and Alaska Native children.
However, today, the SCOTUS started hearing arguments in a case that could overturn ICWA. This would not only endanger children and allow cultural genocide, but it would endanger tribal sovereignty since it would deny sovereign tribes the rights over the placement of their own children.
This November, this Thanksgiving, and until ICWA has been upheld, I ask you to stand up for the rights of Native Americans and Alaska Natives.
Spread the word about what is happening. Don’t let this get swept under the rug. Post about it. Tell your friends and family.
Sign petitions.
Write to representatives.
Reach out to local tribes to see what you can do to help.
Protest.
And if you can afford to do so, donate to Native American and Alaska Native organizations.
Temperatures are starting to drop in a lot of places so here’s a reminder that you should never plug space heaters into power strips. Space heaters require a higher wattage than power strips can handle, which can result in the strip overheating and catching fire.
Don’t put space heaters around clutter either and don’t run them when you’re asleep or out of the room. Make sure all your smoke detectors are working.
A cold house is awful, especially when space heaters are your only form of heating, but you know what’s worse? Your house getting burned down.
well, since i’ve run out of options and selling clothes will take some time i am making this post to ask for help. i have about two weeks until i have to make rent, and have a dollar to my name after paying my moms pharmacy bill and buying cat food, litter, etc. even if you can’t help financially, sharing this would be enough. i am only asking for half of what i need to make rent, as i’ll probably make the other half selling clothes and shoes.
it would be sooo funny if all my followers sent 10$ to me so we can afford to transport these cats to a place with family and not disown them and also afford anything in general rn. im on a mission. to make sure everything works out
